final impressions blog - August 2006

We just finished our 3rd "Arts at the Gardens" festival on the beautiful grounds of the Sonnenberg Mansion. This is one of our favorite shows. Less than 100 artists set in a wonderful atmosphere, beautiful grounds, high quality art and an excellent staff, all contribute to making this a great and successful show. No wonder it is rated number 2 by Sunshine Artists in New York after only 5 years. We were also humbled at receiving a merit award this year.

Hat tip to Marianne Case Gallagher and her excellent staff in putting together a great sixth annual "Arts at the Gardens" show.

We’ve taken the time between festivals to do some much needed home repairs, business research and moved the business office to a larger room. We also had our print server go down and Joe found that to be a bad video board. So we are now back on line and getting ready for the final fall festival fun.

We did get to do some exploring and vacationing over the last few weeks. Our last trip took us to the Lake George area in the Adirondacks. We were very disappointed that the Lake has almost no public access. There are a few public docks and tiny beaches, but these only allow a small view of this wonderful lake. Even the State Park at the south east side only permits access to a small section of lake.

Anyhow, here is a 14x20 print of a sunrise on Lake George – you are looking east across the lake from around the Bolton Landing area.
