final impressions blog - July 2007

July 4th - Zoar Valley

We started the month with a salon show The Springville Center for the Arts called "The Art of Zoar Valley". I've been to this great gorge many times over the years and hope to go back many more.

If you are in that area, check out the artwork. The gallery is located at 35 East Main Street Springville, NY 14141. Gallery hours are Wednesdays 12-6, Thursdays 12-8, Fridays 12-6, and Saturdays 10-3. For more information, call 592-9038.

July 7-8 - Art In The Park

A delightful small show. We had a booth in the shade off Chautauqua Lake in Mayville NY. There was a nice cool breeze both days and we were pleased with sales for the size of the show.

July 13 - Homearama

This is out 4th year at Homearama. We attended the V.I.P. opening Friday the 13th and it was a pleasure to see some old friends. The weather was great, there was music, wine in the streets, and lines to view the houses. What a great event.

Again it is a delight to be working with Lana Torre and this year's theme was Cape Cod. Barb and I went to Cape Cod in May to create a portfolio of the area. We were lucky that our visit was in the middle of a Nor'easter so my images show the true nature of this wonderful landscape.

In addition to my work, I encouraged Lana to contact another local artist, Christopher Wheat because he creates beautiful paintings of the Finger Lakes and Cape Cod reagion. If you go to Homearama, check out our work.

July 14-15 Cornhill Arts Festival

This was out 3rd year at Cornhill and we had the best weather. It was coll and partly sunny, and lots of people. Estimates ran to 250 thousand. We also had good sales and many of our friends stopped by to say hello.

As always, it was nice to visit other artists Sunday morning before opening.

I underestimated the populatity of new bridge prints.
