About our Editions

All of our prints are sold in a class called a micro-editions consisting of 50 or fewer prints per edition. Most editions are 25 prints maximum.

We do not sell different sizes with different edition numbers, that is we do not sell 25 each of 16x20, and 25 each of 11x14. We adhere to a strict edition number. A print sold in a size other than the original intended size, is sold as a variant. This means for example, that prints #1 through #4 could be sold as 16x20, but print #5 could be an 11x14.

The bottom line is that the edition number is strictly enforced.



Unframed Prints

Each piece of artwork is printed in our in-home studio using only the finest archival paper and inks. Each print is then hand numbered and signed by the artist Doug McFarland.

In our workshop, the prints are mounted on 4-ply Light Impressions archival mat board and come with a Light Impressions “Bright White” 4-ply archival window mat that is specifically cut to enhance our artwork. The window mat design also allows the artist's signature and series number to be seen.

Each print comes with a process and artist description card, our 100% money back guarantee, a print registration card and a print identification card that lists the title of the print, the location the photograph was taken and the print serial number.

The prints and cards are then individually sealed in a dust proof clear package.

Presentation

Year over year we have been mounting, matting and framing our work in a very consistent way. This means that you can buy a print two years from now and it will match your previous print in color, presentation and framing.

This means you can collect and create a gallery of final impressions artwork that works well together, whether they are hanging together, or in different locations.

Standard Framing

These prices include the matted artwork as described above and the following framed features.

Note, as of 2009, all of our frames will be made with Decor molding. This is a darker frame material and has very consistent color. The molding is then hand cut and assembled by master craftsman and frame maker Ward Donahue. We use picture glass rather than window glass for clarity and brightness.

Each framed print comes complete with backer board and hanging wire.

Premium Framing - The Collector's Choice

These prices include the matted artwork as described above and the following framed features.

After framing in our workshop, we apply a dust proof paper backing. This final step permits the artwork to breathe, thus preventing moisture from accumulating under the glass, while providing a dirt and dust barrier.

Additionally, each print comes with a Certificate of Authenticity that complies with the State of New York COA requirements, listing the print name, print number, the total run for the print, and the artist's signature and date.

Each framed print comes complete with backer board and hanging wire and you also have your choice of picture glass or non-glare glass at no additional cost.

We also supply a hook and nail for each print.

Shipping

Shipping prices vary. We ship to any location in USA for a price of up to $35 (USD) maximum per framed picture, which includes insurance. Small unframed prints can be shipped for as little as $7 to $10.

Solid Walnut Frames Still Available

For previous customers that wish to match our primium black walnut frames, we still have them in stock. Please inquire with your purchase.

For these prints, we use hand made frames by master craftsman Ken Bubacz. The black walnut wood for these frames is personally hand selected by Ken from lumber mills in the New York Southern Tier region. The wood is quarter sawed so the tight grain of the wood is toward the front of the frame, then using our specification, it is hand milled and sanded to a smooth finish. Each frame is then carefully glue assembled using matching black walnut corner splines. Each frame receives several coats of fine varnish that are hand smoothed using fine steel wool after each coat. These are the finest frames available anywhere.

Resizing Options

Some customers have requested print sizes other than those listed. Under some circumstances this may require a complete rework of the artwork. If this is necessary it will be billed at $30 an hour. We can provide you with a quote if this is necessary.
